Pneumonia, which means inflammation of the lungs, is a common illness that can affect anyone. It is a much more serious condition in the elderly, in chronically ill individuals and in those with impaired immunity from cancer or certain medications. Another form of chemical pneumonia is aspiration pneumonia. Aspiration pneumonia refers to the problem of mouth contents entering the airways instead of going into the stomach. This can lead to an infection of the lungs, fever and breathing problems, even a bacterial pneumonia.

If detected early, a person with a good constitution and proper treatment can recover quickly from an influenza bout. However, acute pneumonia attacks can be life threatening as well. More often than not, pneumonia can prove to be fatal to patients having weak immune systems. Pneumonia affects the proper working of the lungs, since the infection creates fluid which blocks the alveoli. Successively the oxygen doesn't go deep into the lungs and very less oxygen is given to the blood. Respiration is affected and the shape worsens when both lungs are infected by pneumonia.

In some can develop into serious complications. This does not usually happen but older adults are more prone to develop complications. Some of the complications that an individual can develop from a pneumonia infection are bacteremia and lung abscess. The main problem is that its symptoms are the same with the cold or influenza symptoms. After the coughing a mild fever may also appear, accompanied by a running nose, exactly the same when you have a cold. The bronchial is basically a tube from which the inhaled air passes from the trachea to the lungs. Fungal Pneumonia, especially Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP), is much less common that either the bacterial or viral variety, and is often associated with a weakened or suppressed immune system. Pneumonia mostly affects elder people and young children. The elders usually have viral or bacterial pneumonia, while those that are under 40 years old and suffer from pneumonia mostly have mycoplasmal pneumonia. The first pneumonia symptom is coughing and fever. A few days after later, a greenish liquid is eliminated when you cough, and the fever gets worse. Then pain in the chest starts to be felt, and when the illness advances the patients start to cough blood, loose appetite, vomit, and their skin gets a blue color.
